Never worry about wearing your lenses incorrectly as these contacts come with an inside-out marking so you can handle and insert them properly each time.

Recommended Replacement Schedule for Acuvue Oasys 12 Pack

Acuvue Oasys Family Picture

These contact lenses will arrive packaged as 12 individual lenses in buffered cellulose with methyl ether cellulose, meaning they are sterile and able to withstand storage and shipping conditions. The recommended wear time for Acuvue Oasys is up to two weeks of daily wear and cleansing or six nights/seven days of continuous wear. Do not wear any contact lenses for longer than the recommended length of time suggested to avoid the risk of eye infections.

Extra Features of the Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus

You’ll enjoy the following features when wearing these contact lenses in addition to convenience and easy handling.

UV Protection

Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus 12pk offers the highest level of UV protection of any contact lens on the market today. This contact lens protects the eyes from more than 99% of the sun’s UVB rays and over 95% UVA rays.

It is important to note that UV-absorbing contact lenses are not substitutes for wearing UV-absorbing eyewear such as sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding areas.

Highly Breathable

The eyes need an adequate oxygen supply to remain white and healthy. The Acuvue Oasys contacts have high oxygen permeability at 147 Dk/t which lets the eyes breathe well and stay healthy.

If you suffer from chronic dry eye, a contact lens with a higher Dk/t value may be better suited for your eye’s health. Bausch & Lomb Ultra (163 Dk/t), Air Optix Night & Day (175 Dk/t), and DAILIES Total 1 (156 Dk/t) have higher oxygen transmissibility than the Acuvue Oasys Hydraclear Plus lenses. You’ll need to speak with your eye care provider before trying other contact lenses that are not prescribed to you.

Hydraclear Plus

Uncomfortable contact lenses can cause dryness and eye irritation. Acuvue Oasys employs the moisture-locking technology of Hydraclear Plus keeping in moisture all day long and preventing dryness or irritation. The ultra-thin edges also ensure that the lenses conform to the eye surface for maximum comfort

Johnson & Johnson has released other Acuvue brand contact lenses with newer technology that also provide exceptional comfort and hydration. The monthly disposable Acuvue Vita contacts utilize HydraMax Technology to maximize and maintain the lens hydration throughout its wear time. There’s also the 1-Day Acuvue Oasys with HydraLuxe that utilizes a proprietary wetting technology designed to mimic the eye’s natural tear film perfect for those who would prefer a daily disposable lens option.

Lens Wear Schedule Water Content Oxygen Permeability
Acuvue Oasys 12 Pack 1-2 Weekly Disposable 38% 147 Dk/t
Acuvue Oasys 1-Day 90 Pack Daily Disposable 38% 121 Dk/t
Acuvue Oasys MAX 1-Day 90 Pack Daily Disposable 38% 121 Dk/t

Acuvue Oasys 2-Week with Hydraclear Plus Are Available For The Following Conditions

Acuvue Oasys spherical lenses are used to correct two refractive errors – myopia and hyperopia. Acuvue Oasys 24 pack is also available for correcting both eye conditions.

Myopia (Nearsightedness)

Nearsightedness occurs when the eyeball is too long relative to the focusing power of the lens and cornea. The abnormal eye shape causes light to bend or refract incorrectly, focusing the image in front of the retina rather than on it. Contact lenses correct myopia by diverging light rays, reducing the eye’s focusing power, and moving the focusing point back onto the retina.

Hyperopia (Farsightedness)

Farsightedness is when a person can see far objects clearly but struggle to see near objects or read close text. The condition occurs when the eyes focus objects behind the retina instead of on it. Hyperopia is corrected with contacts by converging light rays, increasing the eye’s focusing power and moving the focus point forward onto the retina.

What Kind of Lifestyle Does Acuvue Oasys Hydraclear Plus Fit Best?

One of the factors you must consider before deciding on a type of contact lens is your lifestyle. Acuvue Oasys 1-2 week contacts provide day-long hydration, making them ideal for individuals who spend time in dry, dusty, or cold environments. The unique Hydraclear technology reduces dryness, making it perfect for you if you experience eye dryness or depend on rewetting drops. Acuvue Oasys 12 Pack is approved for extended wear (up to 2 weeks), so they are also suitable for people who need to sleep with their contact lenses in.

Acuvue Oasys Professional Review

The Acuvue Oasys is a collection of bi-weekly disposable contact lenses designed for those who require vision correction. These lenses, manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, provide comfort and clarity for a wide range of visual needs. I've had the opportunity to assess the performance of these lenses in a clinical setting, and I am eager to share the findings from my professional evaluation.

Material

The material used in Acuvue Oasys lenses is Senofilcon A, a type of silicone hydrogel. This material is notable for its high oxygen permeability, which allows more oxygen to reach the cornea, reducing dryness and ensuring healthier eyes. Its smooth, wettable surface helps to minimize lens friction, a common issue for contact lens wearers.

Hydration

Hydration is an essential aspect of contact lens wear, and Acuvue Oasys lenses excel in this regard. Equipped with Hydraclear Plus technology, these lenses can retain moisture throughout the day. During tests, the lenses maintained their hydration for an impressive 14 hours, reducing the risk of dryness or discomfort that can occur with extended wear.

UV Blocking

A standout feature of Acuvue Oasys lenses is their UV blocking capability. While they are not a substitute for protective eyewear, these lenses can block more than 99% of UVB and around 90% of UVA rays, providing an extra line of defense against harmful sunlight. Testing demonstrated the effectiveness of this UV protection, but it's important to remember to wear sunglasses for complete ocular sun protection.

Lens Wear Schedule Technology Benefit
Acuvue Oasys 12 Pack 1-2 Weekly Replacement Hydraclear Plus Locks moisture in all day long to prevent dryness and irritation
Avaira Vitality 6 Pack 1-2 Weekly Replacement Aberration Neutralizing System Minimizes the eye's optical flaws so incoming light rays converge for a sharper image
Biofinity 6 Pack Monthly Replacement Aquaform Locks water into the lens for a natural wettability
Acuvue Vita 6 Pack Monthly Replacement HydraMax Uses tear-like properties to work with the natural tear film with each wear

Usage

The Acuvue Oasys is available in packs of 6, 12, and 24 lenses. A 6-pack lasts for 3 weeks with bi-weekly usage, a 12-pack covers 6 weeks, and a 24-pack is sufficient for 12 weeks of bi-weekly wear. Generally, the lenses can be worn comfortably for up to 12 hours a day without discomfort. Over-wearing lenses beyond the recommended time can lead to complications, so it's important to follow the advised wearing schedule and replace lenses as directed.

Comfort

The comfort of Acuvue Oasys lenses is commendable. The combination of the Senofilcon A material and Hydraclear Plus technology ensures a silky, comfortable lens wear experience, even after a full day of use. However, individual tolerances may vary, and if any discomfort or irritation is noticed, it's crucial to remove the lenses and consult with an eye care professional.

Conclusion

To sum up, Acuvue Oasys offers exceptional comfort, prolonged hydration, and reliable UV protection, making it a solid choice for contact lens wearers. While they are not suitable for overnight wear, and some users may find the bi-weekly replacement schedule inconvenient compared to daily disposables, their overall performance and convenience make them a popular option in the world of contact lenses.
